What is Asylum?
This is a form of protection that is granted to people who have had to flee their home country due to a fear of persecution based on race, political opinion or religion etc.
The UK has long been a safe haven for refugees, however, the application process can complex and daunting. The UK Border Agency do not hesitate to refuse protection if they form the view that is a refugee is not genuine or protection is not needed. Our immigration lawyers can help those claiming asylum or those who have a claim on Human Rights grounds.
The law regarding this subject is incredibly complex. The U.K. Home Office decide whether a person is in need of protection under the 1951 Refugee Convention, or if a person’s Human Rights are at stake.
