Jan is a German lawyer with expertise in Corporate Law, M&A, Banking and Finance, Asset Management, and Litigation. He serves as the Head of Legal at our German office.

Following his graduation, Jan was admitted to the German Bar and worked for a German based law-firm earning his skills in corporate law through diverse experiences, including spearheading numerous M&A and private equity transactions, with a specialized focus on regulated industries and transaction finance.

His professional journey led him to assume key roles, including as a legal advisor and general counsel at a global bank, where he navigated the complexities of asset management and banking regulations, particularly in alternative investment space. Notably, Jan was involved in guiding investment restructurings post-financial crisis and driving business expansion into new markets. In another role he managed relationships with regulatory authorities and handled various regulatory investigations and litigations.

Jan was General Counsel, Head of Compliance, and Risk at one of Europe's leading fintech companies, renowned for its open banking platform catering to investment products. In this capacity, Jan concentrated on ensuring regulatory compliance amidst rapid business growth, overseeing litigation matters, establishing various investment platforms, and facilitating various forms of investor financing.

Additionally, Jan provides expert advisory services to private clients and family offices on acquisitions and investment structure setups.

He holds a degree in law from Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich, Germany, supplemented by an LL.M from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and an MBA from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

Jan is a native German speaker, is fluent in English.
